 2018 Preview 


       Northside Methodist Academy finished the 2017 season with a disappointing 0-10 record.

       The defense allowed a team record 392 points last season. The Knights have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2018. The Knights hope to rebound after a down year. Last season they did not win a game which followed a 5-6 record in 2016.

      

       Northside Methodist Academy is a relatively new football program having fielded a team only four seasons. They have managed a record of 14-28 over the past four years.




       The Knights will be under the direction of new head football coach Jason Hurst as they enter the 2018 season.

       The Northside Methodist Academy Knights will play in Class AAA region two during the 2018 season.

       Region two will be one of the most competitive regions in any classification this season.

       The Knights enter the 2018 season in the middle of a 12 game losing streak. They would like nothing better than to end the string of losses early in the season. It will be an uphill battle for the Knights if they hope to grab one of the four playoff slots in region two this season.

       The Knights open the 2018 season at home against non-region opponent Abbeville Christian on Friday, August 24 at Northcutt Field. Last year the Abbeville Christian Generals finished with an overall record of 5-8 and in third place in Class A region one. The Generals lost in the semi-finals round of the Class A playoffs to Chambers Academy by a score of 14-6.

       Northside Methodist Academy and Abbeville Christian have met a total of 6 times on the football field. The Knights have a 1-5-0 record against the Generals. They last met in 2017 with Abbeville Christian winning by a score of 41-10.
